Offensive Lyrics? Check (if you have a taste for boots), Humorous? Check (if you have a pulse), Ripping, mosh compelling, stage diving, middle finger raising naughty behavior inducing hardcore punk rock and roll? YES.

Skeeter de Milo is a rising force in this new and vibrant scene which is centered in the Ridgewood/Bushwick neighborhoods. The band is proud to be emerging here during this exciting time. Cam de Milo (vox), Dev de Milo (bass), Dan de Milo (guitar) and Gabe de Milo (drums) each bring unique perspectives to the creative process; Skeeter de Milo’s music is a team effort. Each member is an accomplished musician with winding paths trod through previous bands and other artistic endeavors (film, comedy, improv etc.)

The Skeeter de Milo story began in 2022 when Cam responded to Dan and Gabe’s Craigslist ad with an audition that could not be denied. Dev, a mutual friend, joined soon after. Immediately, the band began creating music which was more than the sum of its parts, music which could only be built from the combination of each member’s tastes and influences. Cam’s singular voice is front and center with clever, biting and sometimes hilarious lyrics that often leave room for the listener to draw their own conclusions. Perhaps the loudest drummer in the scene, Gabe elevates the music with impeccable beats which turn expectations on their head and leave the hearts pumping and crowds sweating. Dev, naturally talented in all pursuits, lays the foundation with basslines that support yet surprise (one may wonder, why didn’t I think of that?) while Dan weaves alt-metal, punk and golden age rock influences into the arrangements (insert riff face).

The recently released  “How to Cook a Mirror” is Skeeter de Milo’s fourth release. Recorded with Oliver Ignatius at Silvercord Studios, the album captures the band’s live energy, dynamics, and builds on the formula established by their previous EP’s “Bread” and “Shut Up And Enjoy It.” They also released a video album of Charli XCX covers titled “brat, but it's skeeter de milo so it’s weird.”

This is Skeeter de Milo, but more.
